so , just yesterday i've return from the 5day 4 nights trip to pahang for my sec 3 resilience camp.
tired , depressed , partly satisfied , sleepy , smelly , sweaty , and partically almost every word that describes the meaning of the word, "camp".
i came home to an empty house .
a house full of memories that i felt i haven't experienced it in centuries .
memories that hurt , joy , sadness and lesson learnt .
as usual , the door fled open and my cats look up to find me with a huge bag .
wow . i felt like i didnt knew this cats . i felt like a stranger in the house . that felt a little claustrophobic to me . if thats how you spell it .
well , so here i am . one day after the camp telling you , on my official blog , my resilience camp .
lets start out with the night before where i packed the final contents into my yellow camping bag . busy as i must be . i ran in and out of the rooms , ticking everything that was listed in the list that was given to me .
i was as happy or you should say excited by the camp . having to leave everything that i've in singapore . yipee yaya . i kept looking at the clock , counting the hours , minutes and seconds to my camp .
" Do take care of yourself , i don't want to have you injuried . " my mum told me for the thousand time . ok . i was a little sick of what she been telling me . more than sick , i knew she was worried about me . i just nodded , didnt want to waste my time talking .
soon , i was in school . lining up in my higher 2 groups . we were given a choice to pick our groups .
Stronger .
Higher .
Faster .
Stronger consists on living on your own . Buliding your own shelther , hunting your own food , finding your own water supply . and making your own fire . you could say its like Survivor .
Faster consists of cycling 52km from somewhere to Taman Negara . you must complete it in a day . Their reward is flying fox and white water rafting .
Higher . My Group . consists of rock climbing , absailing , cave and trekking . reward activity is a 4x4 jeep ride to the waterfall .
so i was sitting with four groups of Higher . im Higher 2 . we gathered around 0630 in school before leaving for msia at 0730 hrs . i look like an idiot since im the only one who from my class. most of them are from the same classes . we were given a briefing and left for our busses .
our first day consists more of travelling . so nothing interesting .
when we reach our campsite at twilight , we were amazed by the sky when we reached . we split into tent mates and took our tents with floormats and made our way up to a cave that we are going to sleep in . we set up our tents and had dinner downstairs . we have an icebreaker game before going to sleep and prepare for the major day tommorow.
day 2 .
we got up around 5 am in the morning . i slept around 3 am . my partners were kicking and snoring in their sleep . i manage to sleep for two hours . so when i got up , i froze . i was so freaking cold and dark . we walk our way down and saw the thick fog . we had our torches to help us walk our way to the toilets . as expected , we showered in cold water . we came out feeling cold and hungry . at exactly 7am , we gathered as a group and began morning stretches . then breakfast . we were given a breifing on which activity we were going to do that morning and afternoon . my group and higher 4 went caving and trekking . wow . the mud was deep and sticky . we explore more caves and found one caves with bats inside . fruit bats and the other bat was one which eats insects . lols . as we were walking out of the darkness into the light , my teammate , si cheng fell into a puddle of bat poop . as usual , we kept to our right while he wondered off elsewhere . and then as we manage to come out of the cave , i fell a little itch on my legs . and guess wat , there were at least 2 leeches sucking me on my left leg and one in my shoe sucking my left foot , while another leech , like god damn it . it suck the same scar i had when i fell during absailling , the scar was big enough and now its making it bigger , i didnt scream or anything . i just stared with wide eyes and saying to my friends around me sarcastically , " who going to take this leeches off me before they take away my sugars ? " some laughed , some when to get leaves and forced out the leeches . there was a popping sound everytime my friends tried to pull them out of me . heh , terrible .
then we had lunch and continue with afternn activities which consists of rock climbing , ah . heaven . finally , rock climbing . i climbed the highest and the most difficult one . while climbing and grabbing hole of the cracks , you must be thinking there must be nothing . but believe me , there was like insects in there ! bees , ants ... eee. thank goodness they did nt crawl onto me . i was relieved . we took turns trying out 2 different rocks . and while waiting for each other , 4 adorable kampong boys on their bikes visited us , they were adorable . they watched us climb . they found a huge milipede and played with it . soon , we were all playing with it . especially me . i was carrying it around and scaring Khairil with it . everyone was laughing . i gave them 4 ringgit each out of happiness . i really like them . it make me miss the kampong life .
we reached back to camp on a bus around 5 and start dismantling the tents in the cave , we start packing things up to leave for Jerum Besu Resort . we were sad , dissapointed . we didnt want to leave . we didnt want our guides to leave . we miss the place like hell . we were given our last briefing and our last goodbyes to our trainers and guides before boarding the busses , by 7.30pm , we were on our 3 hr journey to Jerum Besu . when we reach , it was around 10.30pm , we collected our things, tents and floormats and walked through the dark again to the resort .
we were given another briefing and then we walked again through another route to our campsite . wow . we thought it would never end for us sleeping at campsites . this time , the view was better as we slept with the stars above us . the girls have two bathrooms . one near the guys campsite and the other at the resort . the boys bathroom was at the resort where they have to walked a long distance unlike us . we slept peacefully . we woke around 6am without a wash . we assemble and did our morning exercise and learn a new song . we had our breakfast and assembled again . this time it was the jeep rides!!! we rode the bus for an hr and reach our destination . the jeeps were waiting for us . OMG!!!! it was small yet it look so dangerous and extreme !!! AHHH!!! we were spilt into groups and rode our jeeps by standing . it was fun and breathtaking as we rode the 4x4 jeep ride to the waterfall, it was a long ride . i earn a swollen hip while on the way . we rode through the muds , the jungles , the river . OMG ! the river crossing was uber fantastic !!! totally awesome !!! ahh . we walked up the trail and reached a magnificent waterfall . we bathed in the cold water . ahh . brrrzzz. it was dang cold !
we rode the jeep again dripping wet . we were dried by the time we came back to the jeep station . ahh . freshed . we changed into our camp shirts and our shorts . then we rehearsed for our group cheer . i shared all my candies with mostly the guys that we sitting all around me in the bus . ahahaha . we were making jokes , laughing . we reached to another destination , our final destination . we reached the Jerantut Hill Resort . we met up with everyone , every class mate , every boy , every girl and hug each other after a long while we never saw each other . we rehearsed again . we compete in cheers . and we ate dinner together . ahh . then we went down to the meeting room for our final activity , the reunion . our teacher gave us speeches . and also photos and videos of us . different teachers in charge gave out prizes . i got a prize for being the most sporty girl in the group .
ahaha. we drove out again in the busses to the train station . we waitied for 3 hrs . until 3am the train reached . we rode the train to singapore .
day 5 came , we were all begging for a bath as we were still on the way to singapore . we walked through the whole cabins and met up with everyone again ! the moment we reached , we were all hugs and kisses and left our separate ways . and guess wat the first thing my mum said to me , i lose weight . lols . i've finally glad my mum finally, cn see wat i've trying to tell her . but wat the hell , i miss home . and i appreciate what God have given me . I love Singapore . and i'll try to appreciate every thing i have .
